As well as allowing you to form stronger bonds with the characters, these conversations can also affect the outcome of the narrative. After completing a set number of missions, you're able to visit a hologram of your choice to talk about more intimate matters. You're given many opportunities to chat with the holograms and there's a good deal of variation between each character's personality. This includes the AI who will frequently talk to you as you go about your missions. The upside of having so much text in the game is that the main characters are well fleshed out. Alone With You is slow-paced and dialogue-heavy, both to its credit and its detriment. If you're looking for a game full of action and excitement, this isn't the one for you. You'll also get to know your companions on a personal level and, based on your interactions, potentially form relationships. But your meetings aren't just about business. Each of them has a special area of expertise to aid the ship's repair and it's your job to bring them the data they need from various locations around the colony. To fix it, you're going to need the help of some rather unique companions: the colony's AI and the holograms of four of its former crew members. There's an escape ship in the hangar, but it isn't capable of flight. You take control of a doomed colony's last survivor who must flee before the planet implodes around him. □ Gee, nice welcomeĪlone With You has an interesting premise. │ One of Video Chums' core principles is "it's better to be late and thorough than it is to be early and misinformed". At only 14-years-old, Wilder has done an extraordinary job at making her music relatable to the lives of anyone that listens, regardless of age or place in life.Reviewed by Stephen Palmer playing a PS4 on August 22, 2016Īlone With You is Cross-Buy with PS Vita and also available for Nintendo SwitchĬreated by Benjamin Rivers (the developer behind the 2D horror title Home), Alone With You is a narrative-driven sci-fi game that promises players adventure, exploration and even a little romance. Wilder sings, “I wanna be alone with you / I really hope you feel it too / Sit on the stairs and stare at you / Wanna cross that fine line / If looks could kill then I’d die.” It’s in the chorus that we are made aware of just how intense her feelings are and we feel them in turn. It’s in the latter half of the video, as Wilder and Bowers dance around a closed diner, that we are reminded of just how fantastical crushes can be. The production is a bit reminiscent of an up-beat, pop-rock Avril Lavigne song, while Wilder’s vocal elevates it to that of pure pop, as she sings, “I could see us right here forever / We don’t have to speak, we can do whatever / It’s so bittersweet, I’ll remember you the rest of my life.” We are brought into Wilder’s world as we travel from the hotel, to a skate park, and lastly a diner, allowing anyone watching to be transported back in time to their adolescence, or to fantasize about how they want to live their future teen years. The video begins at the Pink Motel in Los Angeles, CA, as we watch a pink convertible drive up, Wilder in the passenger seat and her crush, Tripp Bowers, at the wheel. As the lead single from her debut EP, Teenage Lullabies, “I Wanna Be Alone With You” perfectly encapsulates both the romanticization and intensity of feelings that are experienced in a relationship, whether it be with a crush, a friend, or one’s self, which is the through line of the seven song project. For Cloe Wilder, daydreams seem to consist of riding around in a pink convertible with her crush at the wheel, or dancing around a closed diner while he whips up burgers and milkshakes, as evidenced by her new music video for “I Wanna Be Alone With You,” featuring Tripp Bowers. Having a crush often leads to endless daydreams, some more realistic than others.
